Description: 
  • Provides hands-on implementation to the R&D Department with a goal of developing and designing new circuit and system products.
  • Conducts electrical engineering design, analysis and documentation of electronic assemblies and components, as well as pre-production builds and transfers to productions.
  • Serve as Project Manager, responsible for the timeliness and resources associated with a project.
  • Supports the company vision, mission and values while promoting continuous improvement and cost savings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

System, Hardware and Software Design - 30%

  • Evaluate current system for improvements in performance, quality, access cost of upgrades.
  • Hardware simulation, component evaluation, prototyping, verification, documentation, test reports, test outlines and user manuals.
  • Authoring and documenting firmware.
  • Test software applications and support customer software purchases.
  • Update software as needed, which includes error corrections, feature enhancements and OS compatibility.

Research & Development - 20%

Project Management - 20%

  • Define project scope, estimate costs and duration, review and close project at its close.
  • Direct and supervise project team.
  • Organize and lead project status meetings and provide project status to internal and external customers.

Cross Functional Support - 10%

Hands on support for Engineering, Production, Test and Sales departments with new technology training, explaining concepts of new products and supporting software changes and facilitating a project's completion.

Customer Service - 15%

Interface with customers to determine specifications and items that are critical to ensure functionality, develop solutions, provide on and off site customer service and Engineering support.

Required Education: 

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or required field, Master's Degree preferred

Required Experience: 

10 years minimum in an Electronic Engineering role.

Project and ITAR experience.

  • Proficient knowledge of company products, design and quality.
  • Functions successfully with general supervision and has the ability to work independently, take initiative and prioritize multiple assignments with attention to details and deadlines.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships and work in a team environment to meet team and company goals.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations, especially State safety.
  • Understands basic Electrical Engineering concepts (power, fields, voltage stresses, EMI), the key electrical engineering disciplines and has experience in design, repair and analysis of electronic systems.
  • Working knowledge of soldering equipment, test equipment and hand tools and is capable of stepping in to Production and Testing positions to assist in the on-time completion of a project.
  • Working knowledge of electronic circuit technology, assembly processes (analog, digital and/or high voltage design).
  • Attend seminars.
