Description:
Responsible for the preparation of weight reports for offshore fixed & floating facilities (topsides, hull, jackets). These reports are developed by working with the discipline lead engineers to develop weight estimates, calculations, and performing trend analysis to identify gaps or overlaps and to identify weight reduction ideas. The Specialist will organize the accumulated data for use in a Weight database and will plan work to support a monthly reporting cycle.
In addition, will prepare Weight Control procedures based on project plans and company work instructions that identifies weight control issues, reporting requirements, verification plans and database management practices.

Required Education:
BS Degree or equivalent work experience in Engineering (Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Civil).
Required Experience:
- 10-15 years of experience (in the last 15 years) in the offshore industry in the Engineering, Fabrication or Installation phases of projects including offshore production facilities (fixed or floating) and field development.
- 3 years of recent experience in a lead role in the Engineering phase required.
- Must be comfortable identifying weight threats and making recommendations and presentations to managers.
- Experience within a fabrication yard or offshore installation environment is recommended.
- Must have experience with a combination of AUTOCAD, MS Office, PDMS, VISIO, and 3D modeling software like PDMS.
- The ability to read 2D drawings for structure, piping, electrical and arrangements is required.
