The third type are HEPCO employee consultants, who will work on a specific client project as our employees until their role on that project is completed; at which time that person’s services are terminated. For permanent technical staffing searches, HEPCO initially phone screens each candidate and then conducts extensive reference checks. Once this is completed, if the candidate does not live locally, we suggest the client conduct one or more initial phone interviews before committing to bringing the candidate in for personal interviews.
Our markups for both consultants and permanent technical staffing candidates are very competitive and negotiable. With temp-to-perm agreements, we need to know how long the consultant will be a contract employee before conversion takes effect. Consultants who work six months before conversion, have higher markups than consultants who work twelve months. In some cases, clients ask for a monthly fee schedule, so that at any point in a six or twelve month cycle, the client may take the consultant as a permanent employee.
